JANN DAINVER
‘DEEJAY’ LABADISUS MARAVILLA is a poet, playwright, singer-composer,
theatre director, dramaturg, events manager, researcher, and teacher. He
finished Bachelor of Arts in English (cum laude) at the Mindanao State
University-Iligan Institute of Technology.
He started writing poems during his secondary
education years, while his interest in playwriting manifested shortly after
finishing college. All of his original one-act plays have been staged in some part of Mindanao and have won in regional and national competitions such as MASTS and PASUC meets. Also, some of his
works in poetry appear both in some online and hard print anthologies in the
Philippines: Dagmay Literary Journal of Davao Writers Guild, Sun Star Davao, Balakista and one of his plays appears in Ani, the official literary journal of the the
Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Moreover, he has been awarded as a poetry fellow to Cagayan de Oro Poetry
Writing Clinic, Davao Writers Workshop, Cebu City Kagis Creative Writers
Workshop, a playwriting and dramatugy fellow to the New
Modalities Program of the MSU-IIT Integrated Performing Arts Guild, and a fellow to Sulat-Dula 5: Mindanao Playwriting and Dramaturgy Workshop in Mindanao . He is a member of Community Arts Network ( Austria), the
Founder of PaMaDa (Panon sa mga Manunulat sa Dapitan), Founding Vice Chairperson
of Dapit Sining Collectives and the Founding Artistic Director of Teyatro
Dasuliman of Jose Rizal Memorial State University where he is also connected as
College Instructor. He is also currently serving as a general member to the
National Committee on Dramatic Arts of the National Commission for Culture and
the Arts and an executive member to the Mindanao Creative and Cultural Workers Group, Inc..
